"PET OF THE WEEK" FEATURED FRIDAYS ON KDOC-TV'S "DAYBREAK OC"
Pet Place Booth Draws Crowds At OC Pet Expo
Monday, April 14, 2008Hello Everyone, First a big thank you to everyone who participated at the Pet Place booth this year. Before commenting, here's a roll call of credits.... ================================================================================== Marie Hulett Marie's Group: ================================================================================== This was the busiest The Pet Place booth has ever been. Marie's group and the team of Brian Bishop & Robert Morales did an amazing job of shooting Pet Expo events over two days.....And Marie and her family did double duty in the booth, too, talking to visitors. When Larry Wright performed with Jimbo, he attracted parents and their kids. And on Sunday in the closing hours, the booth became its own entertainment left as Gary, Hazel and Mickey linked arms to sway back and forth in a "Sing Along" with Larry on "Take Me Home" while Dave , the illustrator, drew some amazing sketches to give out and to go into the Pet Place archives. Hearty applause came from all the visitors walking by the booth. All in all, people who came by saw the Pet Place as a family of people who strongly believe in not only finding homes for homeless animals, but having fun, too, and it became infectious. Of the visitors, some spoke of Fred, others were unaware he had passed away, and many others told us they love the look of the new show - one woman said she loves the crawl because it gives her time to write the address down of the shelter that is on the show at that time. Others used the word "warm and cozy" to describe the sofa set we use at Irvine Animal Care left. And, yes, one woman said she loved the "raccoon." Brian and Robert made the rounds, scouting booths for potential advertisers and shooting additional footage for Marie. TAPING SCHEDULE: Here's the plan: Pet Place Pet Expo will be the theme of the next three shows - airing April 20, April 27 and May 4. There will be a taping May 3 with Irvine and Newport Beach shelters participating. The middle of the May 3 taping will be the "Celebration of Fred" event which takes place that day at Irvine. It will air May 11. There will be a taping May 10 at the Irvine anniversary event - the entire show will feature that event and adoptable animals and will air May 18. ================================================================================== For those of you who were not there -- all the brochures were NEW and will also soon be available on the Pet Place website. A huge THANK YOU to PCREPO Graphics which did the printing of new brochures, posters, and business cards. Their address: 1821 Kaiser Avenue, Irvine, CA 92614. Phone: 949-474-9793.-- website: www.pcrepro.com By the way, as a sign of how successful we were this year, 300 business cards for all of us there were printed this year and we walked away with only 30 left, so that, alone, is a record. Dozens of people came by and put their names on our new email list later this week they will all get a thank you note for stopping by our booth. Brian made the rounds of vendor booths, approaching many as potential sponsors. Marie also talked to vendors who expressed interest in advertising with us, so all the information has been gathered for follow-up contacts. Ralphs was the presenting sponsor for Pet Expo, but no company executives were there so we still have no updates on funding. As soon as we do hear something, we will get the word out to everyone. But, in the meantime, we're following up with other potential sponsors and looking to the future - and saying thank you to everyone who came to our booth this year and made the Pet Place appearance there very successful. Thanks, Gary Lycan
PET PLACE TV SHOW NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT NOW! Pet Place to be at Pet Expo in Orange County April 11-12-13 The Pet Place TV Show's goal to is to carry on Fred Bergendorff's wish that The Pet Place would continue to find loving homes for adoptable animals in our local shelters and rescue groups. The response from these groups has been amazing - they support our work and say over and over again the show has helped them to successfully adopt the animals in their care.
"Help Us Keep Fred's Dream Alive" Fred Bergendorff's wish was that The Pet Place would continue to carry on the legacy of his work - finding a home for every homeless pet. The Pet Place has always been a joint venture between animal lovers and the producers. Through generous contributions from viewers like you, the Pet Place has helped thousands of animals find loving, permanent homes. Please help us keep this project up and running. The Pet Place is a non-profit organization and your donations are tax deductible. Please send your contribution to The Pet Place, PO Box 16806, Irvine, CA 92623.
